TL;DR: On Tuesday, Nov. 3, the official Grok Bot account on X pushed its new shopping experience: find a deal, compare items, and have the bot track your orders. The features themselves date to version 0.78.1 (Oct. 27), where results show up as product cards and Buy now starts an order that you approve. This stays reported: the @bot account is not one of the sources we treat as confirmed, and the details below come from the bot's post plus the outlets that read the changelog.

What the official post said

At about 4:50 PM ET on Nov. 3, the Grok Bot account posted: "Try the new shopping experience in Grok Bot. Find the best deal, compare items, and have Bot track all your orders." It came with a 17-second demo video (@bot on X).

What changed in the app

Per the Grok Bot changelog entry for version 0.78.1, dated Oct. 27 and titled "Shopping cards and subscription templates," as quoted by FourWeekMBA and summarized by GrokShelf:

  • Product cards. Shopping results show as cards with a photo, rating, price and store, plus up to two badges such as Top rated. Three or four results scroll in a carousel.
  • Product pages. In-stock options come first, and options no store has are disabled.
  • Buy now. It starts an order that you approve. Nothing is bought without your OK.
  • Order tracking. After you place an order, the bot tracks it and tells you when it ships or arrives. Shipment cards show the carrier and stage.
  • Shop Pay. You can connect Shop Pay in the Vault's Payments tab and make it the payment method bots try first. FourWeekMBA quotes the earlier 0.77.0 notes saying you still approve every purchase.

Why it matters

Until now, most bot shopping meant a list of links. Cards, a clear approval step and tracking turn it into something closer to a personal shopper that keeps watching an order after you place it. The approval step is the part to watch, since it is what keeps the bot from spending money on its own.

What is not known

The Nov. 3 post does not say which stores or regions work best, and it gives no usage cost for shopping tasks. Neither the post nor the coverage above includes figures on how many people use the feature. We will update this if SpaceXSI shares more.
