TL;DR: On November 5, 2026, Cursor announced that you can now build live apps in Cursor and share them with a link. You describe the tool you want, and Cursor builds it, sets up a database, runs deterministic and agentic security checks, and deploys it.
What Cursor announced
In a post from @cursor_ai, Cursor framed the problem plainly: agents have made it easier to write code, but most apps never make it off localhost, meaning they only ever run on the builder's own machine.
The new flow is meant to close that gap. According to Cursor, the steps are:
- Describe the tool you want.
- Cursor builds it.
- Cursor sets up a database for it.
- Cursor runs deterministic and agentic security checks.
- Cursor deploys it, and you share the live app with a link.
Why it matters
The hard part of a small internal tool is often not the code but everything after: hosting, a database, and making sure it is safe to hand to other people. Folding those steps into the same place the app is written turns a prototype into something a teammate can actually open.
The security step is worth noting. Cursor says it runs both deterministic checks and agentic ones, which suggests rule-based scans alongside an AI review. Cursor's post did not list which specific checks run, so builders should still review anything that handles real user data.
What we don't know yet
The announcement post does not spell out pricing, limits, or which plans include it. We will update this piece if Cursor publishes those details.
