Why it matters
AGI is the goal several AI companies name, but it has no single definition, so two people saying a model is or isn't AGI may mean different things. Some definitions focus on doing most jobs, others on learning anything a person can.
Read claims about it with care: look for what the speaker means and how it would be measured. The Pad Zero SI timeline labels such statements as expected, not confirmed, until something testable happens.

- Superintelligence means an intelligence far beyond human ability. Philosopher Nick Bostrom's 2014 book Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies (Oxford University Press) popularized the term and discussed how such a system might be controlled.
